Laboratory Measurements Dialog

Measurements of the densities and other properties of the fine aggregate and coarse aggregate can be entered on the Laboratory Measurements Dialog, which is brought up either by ticking the Use Laboratory Aggregate Measurements check box at the top of the Mix Design Form or with the Measurements item of the Laboratory menu.

Shortcut:

Mouse: Click the button on the toolbar.

The following data may be entered for the fine and coarse aggregate:

The Dialog contains the following buttons:

If the coarse aggregate is lightweight, its strength characteristics must be specified.

  • See Strength of Lightweight Concrete.
  • The user can either specify a concrete critical strength, or a modulus of deformation, or a concrete strength reduction factor and a residual absolute volume/cement ratio.

  • See Specify Concrete Strength Reduction Factor Check Box.
  • See Specify Modulus of Deformation Check Box.
  • In addition the fine aggregate grading is calculated from the percents passing the fine aggregate sieve sizes and is displayed, and the maximum size of coarse aggregate should be entered.

The measurements will only be used in the current mix design and loaded into the active mix design form, if the Use Measurements in Mix Design Check Box is ticked.
